NAVER

The Korean internet company behind the HyperCLOVA X generative AI line. Its English newsroom calls that line “NAVER’s generative AI” and the card for the model recorded here says the model “is a model developed by NAVER”, which is what this dataset records the creator on. The same announcement attributes the open-source SEED release to NAVER Cloud — “NAVER Cloud (CEO Kim Yuwon) announced the completion of three lightweight HyperCLOVA X SEED models” — and that is stated here rather than collapsed into NAVER or split off as a second creator. The relation between them is stated, by the model’s own licence agreement: “NAVER Corp., as the holder of the intellectual property of the Model, and its affiliate, NAVER Cloud Corp., as the exclusive business operator of HyperCLOVA X, enter into this Agreement with you.” Section 9.2 of the same document adds “NAVER Corp. owns the Model”. So the creator recorded here rests on a stated ownership relation rather than on the absence of one, and NAVER Cloud Corp. is not a second creator: the role that sentence gives it is operating the business, which this collection keeps separate from creating the model.
